Welcome to the Nürnberg Laboratory

In our lab we are interested in understanding photosynthesis and the limits of life. This process that has been changing our planet for more than 2.4 billion years. We combine molecular biology and bioinformatics with biochemical and biophysical methods. Our work not only focuses on the underlying mechanism of photosynthesis, but also on its ecological importance. With our research we hope to provide biotechnological solutions to grand challenges such as global food and energy security.
